A² — Assay · How It Works

From paragraph to sealed finding.

Four steps turn a document into a clear, claim-by-claim picture of what the evidence supports.

The Assay pipeline

Each step hands a cleaner, more accountable result to the next.

Step 1

Decompose

The document is broken into individual, checkable claims. Argument and opinion are recognised and set apart.

Step 2

Trace

Each claim is traced to evidence in Corpus Ethica and to recognised academic registries.

Step 3

Verdict

Every claim receives a plain verdict: supported, needs evidence, or review required.

Step 4

Seal

Findings are sealed into a tamper-evident record, with sign-off proportionate to the stakes.

Claims, not documents

Most tools judge a document as a whole. Assay works at the level of the individual claim. A single report may contain dozens of factual assertions, each of which deserves its own answer. Reviewers see exactly which statements hold and which need attention.

Argument, interpretation and stance are recognised for what they are: the author's own voice. They are set apart from the checking process so that strong writing is never penalised for having a point of view.

Grounded, not guessed

Every claim is traced to evidence in Corpus Ethica, the ETHOS Knowledge Estate, drawing on thousands of peer-reviewed, academic and professional resources, and to recognised academic registries. Assay is aware of retracted research, so withdrawn studies are flagged rather than repeated.

Built the ETHOS way

Our models and deterministic expert engines are developed in-house, within the UK and EU, and Assay is deployable fully air-gapped. Your documents need never leave your own infrastructure.
