A² — Assay · The Verdict Spectrum

Four verdicts. One honest score.

Every empirical claim lands on a clear spectrum, and the author's voice is protected by design.

The verdict spectrum

Plain, consistent outcomes that reviewers can act on.

Supported

The evidence supports the claim, with no active retraction.

Review required

The claim conflicts with the evidence, or cites a source that cannot be confirmed.

Author's voice

Argument, interpretation and stance, recognised and kept outside the score.

Integrity
score

Integrity = Supported ÷ all empirical claims

The author's voice never lowers the score

Verdicts are computed, not written

Each verdict follows a consistent, rule-based assessment of the evidence, rather than an impression of how convincing the prose sounds. Two reviewers looking at the same document see the same result.

A score that defends voice

The integrity score counts only empirical claims. Speculation, interpretation and opinion are recognised as the author's voice and never lower the score. A humanities essay rich in argument is not penalised, while a technical report heavy with figures is held to a high bar, because every factual claim it makes can be checked.

Next to every score, the underlying counts are always shown, so the result can be understood and challenged.
